85 350x. Needs work cosmetically but runs great. Has a trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro ton of compression so I think the compression release needs a adjustment but it runs like a raped ape. I cannot believe how much torque this thing has. First gear I popped a wheelie on test drive haha. Startled me actually. Instant respect for the bike. The 350x has been my dream bike since I learned of it. Now I have one. My brother tattoos and got it in trade, so he asked if I wanted to trade my 84 200x for it.
It needs some stuff but this bike will be torn down and rebuilt. Not soon as I have to take care of life stuff first but I hope too soon.
Anyway here she is.

Good trade, that is a nice step up in power from the 200X, fingers crossed I might be picking up a 350X today also.

Yup went to move it today and hit the throttle and she popped a wheelie and went straight instead of turning. Lots to learn about riding this old girl.
Been going through bike and today was to see why the clutch cable was so loose. Turns out PO had the wrong length cable and had added a bent washer to take up the slack. I don't understand people.. Anyway the cable is way to long and measures 43" long. No amount of adjustment would bring the cable to the perch as it should. What is the correct size cable? Also they had the cable bracket that bolts to side of case up one bolt hole from where it should have been and bent the bracket which required some bench vise love to straighten out. Also is the perch cable adjustment screw and washer the same size as say a 200s? The one in was way to long and was squashed to a point, bent and holding by 2 threads. I pulled the original and the 200s one I have screws in fine but is about 3 threads shorter then the one that was originally in there. My guess is that is not the correct one either.
Thanks for the help all :)

the 85 350x cable is still available from honda for about 26 bucks last i saw. are you sure it isnt an 86 cable on there? it looks like you have the 86 clutch bracket

It may be from an 86. Is there much of a difference between and 85/86 clutch handle bracket? The cable had lots of play on both ends and no way to take up that much slack.

Also noticed that the carrier or axle has a little play right to left and left to right. *NO play up/down. The axle seems to slide back and forth a little. Is this normal wear on bearings or spanner nut loose?

Something is wrong, I'd tear into it and start fresh just so you know it's good and won't destroy the carrier.
Could b e a number of things, but when you tear into it, you'll find it.
Welcome to the wonderful world on the ATC350X!!!

grab the sleeve with the big axle nut and see if it has side to side play. i have had those loosin up on me before. as for the cable im not sure of how different they are but i see the 86 cable is discontinued from honda but the 85 is still available. motion pro stocks both. you can always get the part number off the cable and see what it is

welcome to the real world. :)
if your going to redo it, then make sure you gusset the frame. Honda did a shitty job on the 350x frame quality. so they crack really easily.
