Just wondering if anyone may have a digital copy of an 85 350X Owner's Manual that they wouldn't mind sharing. I checked oscarmayer.net and it's not available (thanks anyway Mike).

What do you want the owners manual?

The owners manuals are hard to find, many through them out because there is not much in there and the service manuals covers everything, are you looking for something specific?

Thanks for the link barnett, but I didn't see the 350x listed. No big deal.

I got this bike back together last night and cannot get it to fire. I've got spark, fresh fluids, new filters and a rebuilt carb. It is still a bear to kick over and being new to the 350x (never even ridden one), maybe I'm missing some general knowledge in the "normal starting procedures" department. Something like: "IMPORTANT! Before starting your 350x, you must first ensure that the kanipter valve is in the intermediate position and the muffler bearings are both present and well greased. This will ensure a safe and EASY engine start."

Thanks anyway guys.

make sure the compression release is working.

spray flammable carb cleaner or starting fluid in it to see if it fires

Indeed it is...I just couldn't see it using my iPad or iPhone (can't scroll the page that far down). Thank you sir!

Yes, I need to look into the decomp system more closely. Both levers move but I don't know if it actually doing anything in the head. Also, I don't know if it is adjusted properly...can't seem to find any info in the Service Manual about it.

I am hard down until my replacement throttle cable comes in anyway...mine is frayed and completely frozen now. Ugh...

Service Manual Page 3-6 (or PDF page #27) has the decompression cable adjustment info.

The basic idea is this: put the piston at TDC. Make sure you have 0.5 to 1.5 mm of free play at the decompressor arm shaft. Any less play and you risk holding the valve open. Any more play and you won't get a good decompression action.

Thank you for the reference. I finally found it a few days ago...just waiting on my new cable to arrive. Mine was old and very stretched out.
