View Full Version : Using Delrin for suspension

We were blessed with the worst a-Arm bearings every produced for my son's race quad. Onformula1 had me send him a spare bearing of each size to maxine out of Delrin and get rid of the crappy bearings.
Installed and night and day different. Everything is so much tighter, smoother and more solid. We races yesterday on them and they were amazing. I had to adjust the suspension due to the more tighter speced bushings now vs the old crappy, sloppy stuff.

Cool, glad to hear the good news.
That self adjusting caster/camber/toe set up was for the birds, I guess when there is only one bearing option left you have to use them, but man are those kits made poorly.

I replace all kinds of bushings with delrin, always with great results. easy to machine and strong as crap.
only thing to be careful of is things that HAVE to have some flex... delrin will not

What about using virgin teflon for bushings? It has a lot of flex but i'm not sure it would be durable in the long run. Maybe not even at all.
I love turning delrin and teflon!
and silicon bronze:lol:

Tried it, it's a bit gooey for this application...IMHO It would probably work ok if sleeved.
