Need 2 Know 250sx fork info

I'm needing to replace my front lower fork and just wanted to make 100% sure that the 86-87 honda 250sx front forks were the same as the 1985 honda 250sx? thanks anyone for the info. I'm pretty sure they do.

Yes the lower fork tube is the same, the rest is as well as far as I remember.

No the 1985 lower is different than the 1986-87, different part numbers too. the upper tubes are the same.

I don't know how different or if they will fit with mods.

Are you sure? I don't remember them being any different, I double checked and the part number listed for all 3 years is (right/left) 51420-HA6-681/51520-HA6-681 which superseded 51420-HA6-003/51520-HA6-003 and 51420-HA6-013/51520-HA6-013.

The dead give away is check the crossovers at the bottom of the part number pages.

Those links are only for the right side lower tube. The same site lists the left one as interchanging.
