shock oil Help!!!!!!!!!!!

i was trying to take off the front hub today and i looked at a bolt not nowing what it was and just unbolted it then alot of liquid came at me this is the shock oil right. well do you put it back in and also what kind of shock oil do you put in.

unscrew the top cap to refill the shock. i use automatic transmission fluid and it works great. i think the book says that it holds 7 onces of fluid
