Buddy of mine got a 1981 250r that he saw for sale and thought it would be a good (doesn't know anything about trikes) trail/bird hunting machine. He sent his wife over to pick it up because he was out of town and didn't know it was a "BRAAPPP" until he got home! LOL... Anyways, he just uses it now to boot around his yard but he definitely wants a 4 stroke and will sell me this thing for what he paid... about 500$.

I took it for a quick boot, runs good, everything is tight, idles fine. Rear brakes are worn, fronts are good. Tank is good, rear plastic just has one crack. Feels pretty solid. Still has lots of pep and was fun as hell! I got a '86 250r, but don't know much about these air foolers... they are pretty rare animals around here and this is "bush" country, everybody here has utility machines. I'm thinking it will be way simpler to maintain than my 'r... and would be better for me than the liquid around my forested trails.

I'll probably get it, just cuz... but anything I should look out for? Anything known to crap out on these first gens that will cost me an arm and a leg to fix? How are parts to find for it? Damn this trike addiction of mine...

Thanks

You shouldn't have any problem finding parts for it. If it runs good and looks good buy it. I would!!!
