85-86 250R dust seal question

I bought a basket case 85 250r.The pieces the dust seals fit over.Is it long side in or short side in?Tough to see in pics.

The lip of the seal is on the outside and make sure to grease them up when installing .

The seals aren't the problem.The piece they go on too that goes into the swing arm.It has a short side and a long side.Which side goes into the swing arm?

Since you didn't specify what part of an '85 250R you're working on, I think he assumed you were talking about fork seals.

It's been a long time since I've had the "collars" out, but going from memory...

Hang on a few, let me go measure to be sure.

Alright, whichever side has a 3/16" shoulder, goes to the outside.
