Any clues on how i can get my swingarm pivot bearings out. it almost seems like there is a cap on either end preventing the bearings from sliding out?

it depends, it could be rusted. Do you have the swingarm off the trike? if you do, look for a nut that may hold them in. There is a cap on most trikes that also cover the bearings and the pin, which you need to take off. it should pop off fairly easily.

Here's a thread with some good information for you. I have to do the same this weekend if I get some time. I have a couple swingarms for my aircooled project that need new bearings, I've been burried for the last 2 weeks at work and have not had a chance to tackle them yet. Good luck!

two words for ya..

BIG HAMMER!

Oh, and a chisel or punch helps.. also a little heat.. I took mine out today.. all went well except for the last one... Took a torch and 3 guys to hold the swingarm while I swung away with a hammer and chisel.

where were you using the chisel? on the outside of the swing arm or the inside where the bolt goes

the needles in the bearings all fell out. All that was left was the case of what used to be the bearing. I used a chisel on the bearing, and drove it out.. DONT hit your swingarm or cut it up!
