....For the second time in as many years.
We got letters in the mail stating that Kentucky Health Co-op was shutting down and our policies would not be renewed in 2016. This was after getting letters about double digit rate increases.

Now, for me to insure my family, it costs more than my mortgage payment every month. If I DO use the policy, my share is $6800 in deductible... a year....so BEFORE my "affordable care" pays the very first dime of claims, I will have spent the equivalent of the sticker price of a brand new Hyundai.... every single year.

What an ignorant mindset that produces the "progressive" ideology that has now made it more profitable to be destitute than to be middle class. Math was never their strong suit. How long do they honestly think folks will go on slaving away to carry the burden for everyone else?

The ACA is organized Thievery. Nothing more, nothing less. Those of us in the middle class pay twice over. I now pay 400% more in premiums and deductibles and on top of this, my Liberal Overlords are printing more cash by the second to loan out to prop up the Health Insurance industry thereby increasing Inflation and lowering the purchasing power of my EARNED WAGES.

I would be better off quitting my skilled trade and get a job at MinimumWageIncorporated. Then I can get food, rent, and healthcare subsidies and I can spend my $1000 a month in wages on XBox, IPhone, WiFi, Cable.

I wonder what these complete fools are going to do when the min wage hits $15 an hour and their $400 a month healthcare subsidy turns into $20 a month. Or zero.

Its hard to look my kids in the eye and say 'Go to College' or even 'Stay in school'. If I had known I would be punished for being driven and working hard to get a degree or learn a trade, I would have quit highschool in 1984 and surfed out of my van for the next 30 yrs. WTF is the point in trying anymore? Being successful no longer is a source of pride. Success is now the scapegoat for the world's problems. It reaps resentment, envy, accusations, venom, and financial punishment from our "leaders" and our victim classes alike.

I've seen a fundamental shift in this country of our mindset. We scorn competition and intellectual property and then expect people to still be innovative and productive even when it can't be sustained financially. Because Altruism. A Socialist thinks that the poor don't have the benefits of material wealth because the rich are hoarding all the cash. At least this is the pile of dookie they sell to the public. Socialists KNOW that nothing comes free so they always suggest that the labors of the skilled and driven ("priveledged" according to some) be used ("redistributed") to finance the whims and poor decision making of the unskilled or lesser driven ("under priveledged").....when this doesn't work, the hard line socialist resorts to merely lowering the living standards of ALL people ("equality") so that when nobody is jealous of their neighbor anymore because the whole neighborhood is starving and destitute (like the USSR) they can claim Victory and Equality for all!

Equally broke or equally prosperous. The only word they are interested in is Equal.

How long before poor folks stop making deals with the devil at the polling booth? How long will the middle class let themselves be robbed and vilified? How long before someone figures out that we have had a National minimum wage since 1938......and yet there is still poverty. Its been raised time and time again. The wage may change but poverty remains. Socialism has been tried time and again and yet poverty is the result not only for the citizen but their government s as well. The end result of every socialist program or government is always bankruptcy. There are no current Socialist success stories and even the best managed are deeply in debt the world over. When do people realize how fruitless this idea?

Besides, you can't blame the rich for hoarding money. Our money is infinite according to your Federal Reserve and the presses have been churning out worthless ducats since lord knows when. You can only hoard what is finite and the dollar hasn't been finite in decades. I know of nine trillion pieces of proof to this effect.

I couldn't say it any better than you Doug!

The only part of everything you said I take slight issue with is your question as to when the "underprivileged" will stop making deals with the devil at the polling booth. And the only issue I take with that question is that it is hopelessly unlikely that any of these "working poor" (another buzzword) will EVER vote for anything other than to continue their own benefits at the expense of those of us who go out and earn it... It's a nice thought my friend, but human nature will always take the path of least resistance given the choice.. couple that with generational poverty (really lack of anything resembling a work ethic or drive to succeed) and all it takes is time for the recipient class to keep reproducing and this is where we find ourselves..

Ol' Rush said it best the day after the last presidential election... Paraphrasing- "We ran against Santa Claus and we lost..how do we successfully run against Santa Claus who keeps promising more free stuff??"

These hack tyrants have figured out that they only need to appeal to the lowest common denominator to keep winning at the ballot box. And that is really a profoundly sad statement of the mindset of our nation (as you so correctly put it).

Say it with me now: "ALL HAIL THE RECIPIENT!!"

Sorry to hear about your insurance situation... :( I hope you can find a way to get your family insured before our wonderful government levies their so aptly named "shared responsibility" fine for not carrying insurance..

What a sad state of affairs.... We will be remembered as the generation that either took out the trash and restored this constitutional republic, or the generation who let liberty die in trade for more free stuff... That's the real cost of the socialist utopia.... But make no mistake, the elite ruling class will still retain their wealth and power. Funny how they preach so fervently about equality and all of that nice stuff.. But they will never do without!

In before glamy's poorly photo-shopped and somewhat twisted, but usually humorous memes.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune 'chop

I love how the libtard FSA (Free Sh!t Army) somehow believe that their rich Democrat politicians care more about them than the other I or R politicians

The best part? http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-laughing001.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php) Those evil profit mongering Insurance companies that were raking the consumer over the coals and making money hand over fist? http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-laughing001.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php)

THEY STILL ARE!!!!!!!BUWAAHAAAHAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAA http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-laughing001.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php) http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-laughing001.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php)

Time to bring on single(government)payer! It's the only fair solution to bring the poor and middle class justice!!! Oh! And if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. Really this time. I promise.

Seriously.

Minnesota is also looking at double digit increases, IIRC. MNSure or whatever the fudge our healthcare exchange is called is still a joke after all this time. F'n bullsh!t.

I believe that either the end of this year oer maybe next is when all of the Unions will have their healthcare plans declared "Cadillac plans". I can't wait for the butthurt to start :naughty:

Full disclosure: I belong to a Union, but didn't vote for their politicians.

Nobody named Obama will EVER stand in line for Obamacare...

A plan so damned good, the politicians who rammed it through exempted themselves and their minions from it... Yes my friends, we are now in a place in the USA where our leaders exempt themselves from the legislation they saddle we the people with...

I too belong to a union.. I'm not a big union guy, and the union was not the reason I took my job. And I agree Scooter, sooner or later the unions will be targeted for having those "cadillac" plans... What's so wrong about having a Cadillac anyway????!!!

Have a hit, sit back, and relax

My comment wasn't an insult dood. I said I find them amusing did I not? Chill da fack out!

My comment about single payer was sarcasm. You need to get your sarcasm detector calibrated.

I sure don't need you to tell me Jug Ears did me no favors.

How about a government that makes sure EVERYBODY does their best to provide for themselves before forcing others to support them?

Anarchy? No thanks.

How bout we just go back to "By the people, for the people" instead of "By the money, for the money"?

That sucks about the insurance chop. It will probably get worse before it gets better IMO. Just keep working buddy, we can all just hang it up and collect what they are handing out. That's what they want!!!

I'm not rolling over, things will change eventually and the gov won't even matter. I take the unfortunate events as practice for the true inevitable chaos. The ones who give up now will surely suffer later. We must push through and shake off the leaches of today one at a time. It will build antibodies in our flesh to persevere the larger predators.

ACA is a joke, it's a shame that our elected(appointed) officials would ever commit to such commi standards. Ol' G-Wash is doing somersaults in his coffin. I'd like to see him resurrected so he could gut these pigs with his sabre.

I really liked my insurance plan i had last year, we had open enrollment this year and turns out our "choice" of plans were one single plan, and one family plan. Both with deductibles so high i can't afford to use it. Mine went up 20 dollars a month, and its a far inferior plan to what i had. And there's no way i could afford insurance if it wasn't through my our company. It would cost me 50% of my pay.
An interesting read, exactly what you'd expect to read honestly...

We let the government take over one of our most important resource, and now they are driving us to give up and give in. Dividing up what means the most to us by making people think they don't have a choice. I cant jump on the free ride bandwagon, my pride wont let me do it. The irony of the liberal socialist ideology, "we have to put societies needs ahead of our own", is that people don't realize they were already doing that by doing their best and working hard.

I don't know how someone can even get in the mindset that something is "free" when its handed to them by the very ones that control them. I don't know what the future holds for this country but my pride won't let me get on the "programs" and i will stay in my own little world and watch this "perfect society" collapse around me.

Stay working and doing your best, it'll mean the difference in things being hard for little while, and losing everything you have. Its time to buy precious metals and guns.

Liberty??? Yeah, I'll squander it away in trade for some false security.... It still amazes me how the concepts the founders spoke on are still so profoundly applicable today..

But that can never happen here... can it?? ;)

I just lost my job. The company I worked for did not have any more money in their budget to get their painting done so they eliminated my job. I was an employee direct hire. It only paid 36K a year. Thats 17 bucks an hour. I am single with no dependents so after the ass raping of taxes I take home 100 per day. They offered Aetna health insurance. It cost 60 bucks per paycheck. I could not afford it so had no insurance. Meanwhile when I was unemployed I was on medicaid and got the best free health care. I was and still in need of hurnea surgery. I will have to pay the fine when I file for tax return and I dont care I will pay it because its less than paying premiums. Aetna wanted 1500 deductible. When you live from paycheck to paycheck you know that it is impossible to pay. Especially when your single. I will not get married for business reasons and dont like lawyers so I am single. So in a nutshell I will sum up this insurance thing.

Health care has been destroyed by insurance companies. The corporations tell the gummint what to do so its a corporate dictatorship. Fascism.
So how did this 0bummer care all go down ? The too big to fail insurance corporations were going under so the gummint
bailed them out with OUR tax dollars and now we are mandated by gummint to choose a health insurance policy. This is illegal and unconstitutional.
But it doesnt matter because you and me dont matter. You see they are supposed to be our SERVANTS. Instead they have become business partners in crime with corporations.

We can sit here and there and argue and vent until we are blue in the face but the bottom line is this.
The amount of tyranny you have is the amount of tyranny you will tolerate.

Its time for a big old biker blanket party. Thats what party Im a votin fur Kachick !!
