I just bought a pair of the Repo Honda ATC gloves (http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php/176344-Repo-Hondaline-atc-gloves) this member had come across on facebook. I've never done facebook, am I missing out on buys? I have always been a forum fan but have noticed people posting things they have bought from people off facebook and it has made me kinda rethink it. Should I reconsider?

I would say the buys are a little better on Facebook. You get a faster response, more coverage when you advertise. But the facebook trike pages have poor content. Every idiot with a smart phone has access. There are a couple of decent pages out there, Im not condeming them all.

I'm always iffy to buy on Facebook, but I like it. I would give it a whirl. I mean people here will say it's the Devils stomping ground but you'll just have to see how you feel about it yourself.

I'm also younger and use Facebook for its other intentions too, so that's a factor. But I buy and trade trikes off Facebook all the time.

But we have a Pennsylvania based trike group called TRUPA with hundreds of members and it's a good way to keep in touch, plan events, and share photos and stories.

There are lots of groups you can join on FB. Something for everything you can imagine. I've been on it since 09. You just have to research a little before you buy. There are rip off artists everywhere. I'm very happy with it and I'm an old guy.

Thanks a lot guys for the advice. I'll probably do it to see what kinda doors it opens. I'm always trying to improve my shopping of trike stuff!

With the "hit or miss" function of this site actually working lately, I suspect Facebook might be our only option in the future.

I bought my gloves on there, great service. I have had nothing but good on Face Book with all my sales. Like was said already, faster response, you can look at all there friends and ask them questions. For me most members know me so I feel a little safer dealing with them too. I don't know why this forum hates it so bad, to each their own I guess. Oh and I'm 56 and just started on it just about a year now. The only down fall is once people see I'm on there they think I know everything about every bike ever built so I get 10 members messaging all at once asking questions I don't have answers for. So all I do is answer them and then get off real quick. lol

There are certain things Facebook will never have on a forum like this. The archived info on here will never be rivaled by Facebook. The more moving parts of forum style layouts weed out the lazy, "fly by" types. But to answer the original question, this place has the most generous, giving, ask for nothing in return members, who are as close to family, as any internet medium can get. Transactions are far and away better on here because members for the most part have some sort of reputation, unlike most random Facebook guy. But I have scored a set of nos Armstrong Super Turf's and a damn near new set of Hoosier Tri Trac rears for $100 apiece.

I use tapatalk regularly and have no issues accessing the site. Once in a blue it will have its hiccups. I mean in the future we could charge membership and we would have killer services here and tons of awesome features. But for free, I'm not complaining.

I know Facebook gets a lot of bad mouthing on this site for various reasons. Yes there is idiots on there, but there can be idiots here too. If you are looking for super precise technical info, here is a better place to look for it. But if your looking to talk to others about trikes and learn a few things Facebook can be a great place to do it. Generally you can tell who is a good person on Facebook and who is a bad one.

I almost feel some members hate Facebook so much because they know it's taking away traffic on here and want to stop members from leaving. Also Facebook probably doesn't fit the older users as well as it does for younger users.

Im not a big fan of facebook .But I know a lot of people that are on there and several of them told me its a good place to find out about things like racing and what not. Also facebook isn't a kids thing I know a lot of elderly people that are on there they use it to keep in touch with family members.
