Im going to attempt to put an 88trx swinger on my 86 atc250r. I know I have to fab some rear motor mounts because of the swinger design. Anybody got a link to somebody that has pulled this off. Also, do you think the loss of an inch of wheelbase will make it wheelie prone or just something to get used to.

I lengthened an 88-89 TRX250R swingarm and am running that on my '86 250R, but I never tried out the stock length 88-89 swingarm on my ATC. If I remember, correctly some of the ice racer guys have, or are currently, running the shorter TRX swingarms on their 250R's. A shorter swingarm will definitely make your R want to wheelie more.

I am running an 05 450r swinger on mine which is an inch shorter than stock or the same length as the 88. I definitely does want to wheelie more but I race tt and flat track so I wanted it shorter.

I'd do the 06 up 450R swinger so you can buy the linkage, caliper etc. etc. ready and available.
