Recently put carrier bearings on my 200x and the axle nuts won't stay tight while riding. I do have these on right way right? Both of them tight to the right side? I don't really want to put loctite on it and the threads are fine.

I had this same problem on my 85r the jam nut would not stay tight. I used a couple drops of non premanant locktite than tightened it down. This worked fine never had the problem again. I just replaced my carrier bearings a couple days ago and could not even tell I had put locktite on it in the first place. I was the same way my treads are fine but it would just not stay tight. If you find a better way than locktite than try that but I wouldn't hesitate using it if you can't find another way.

Are you missing the snap ring. It goes in the grove outside the lock nut. It looks like this.

Yes I have the snap ring. I actually put anti seize on it because it was a pain to get off. Looks like I'm going to be replacing the anti seize with loctite. These are on correctly though right? Both nuts tight to the right side? The snap ring side?

Once you sort out your nuts & clip locations wash all the anti-seize off both threads with brake cleaner, or thinner and an old tooth brush. Then wave a torch over the threads to be sure they are dry and oil free. Then use blue Loctite paste, or drops and cover all the threads before assembling. Leave it sit 24 hours after that. They shouldn't come off again on their own, but disassembly shouldn't be an issue either. You can always heat the nut to take it off afterwards if its hard to turn.
If that doesn't work you may want to drill through the nut and install one or more small set screws in the nut. Do NOT drill into the axle.

Thanks for the advice Mexican. Can anyone confirm both nuts are suppose to be tight to the right side so I can fix this?

RAD or durablue posi lock nut. The OEM jobbers are junk. I throw everyone away.

Take a better look at it. The idea is that the nut sleeve with internal threads and the sleeve with external threads spread away from each other.
1 heads toward the disc rotor hub, the other heads towards the clip.
Once that is set, the single nut is used as a locking nut.
I had a RAD nut on my good 3fiddy, then I bought a more expensive antifade type and put the RAD onto my other 3fiddy.
In the past, I drilled and tapped it for an 8-32 set screw and it worked just fine.
If they didn't work, they wouldn't be on a Honda.....

I think I understand.. So it is on right way. I looked at the rad and Durablue ones. Rads website says theirs fits all Honda models and Durablue doesn't have one for a 86 200x. Seems weird that radmfg website says theirs works on every Honda atv while Durablue has them for specific models

They fit, companies don't know what they really sell half the time. All you need is a nut that has a pinch bolt in it so it stays tight. Don't over thing it too much lol.

Yes, you have it on correctly. What wrench are you using? AFTER you have cleaned your threads spotless, do not be afraid to use a pipe on your wrench. A lot of old racers taped them after tightening them and riding it for a half hour or so. Nothing at all wrong with these when installed right. Tighten and tape :)

Yes, you're installing it correctly. Tighten the big nut, then use non-permanent, blue loctite on the locknut, and tighten it against the big nut. I never had any issues with the stock hardware.

I have a bit of advice. Electrical tape. It may sound silly, but I haven't had a nut back off since I did it. Old racer trick. Just wrap a couple layers over it, and your good to go.

I always wrap them but I still throw the stock ones away lol.
