Well i just moved into a new house and the garage is needing broke in lol so i picked up a Yamaha 200E for the other half a few days ago for 200 bucks, everything there for a winter project for me and her (if i don't get carried away and take over) this is the photo the guy sent me of the trike

The trike didnt run but it had good compression and it shifted gears, oil was at a good level and the guy said he had to play with the carb to get it to run as it would flood.

Got it home and waited a few days as my dad was having surgery before the tear down began but before i started i wanted to see if i could get it to run so i sprayed starting fluid in the carb and it took a little but the bike fired up and ran at wide open but would die if it went to idle (wanted to see if it had a knock or if it smoked and it didnt do any of that) so the tear down began

found a couple more problems along the way as the rear end has a bad bearing on the brake side and the coil has a broken bolt from the previous owner and i broke the wire to it... now the engine is being taken out next along with the forks, she has a certain color she wants it and the plastics are being vinyl wrapped (they look good in the 1st pic but aren't as good as i though, trust me i would not being doing this to mint plastics at all!!!!) frame is going to stay black and the rims are going to be painted black as well and various other odds and end little pieces, might do a hammered gray on the handle bar, grab bar, axles and brake drums (maybe lower shocks on forks) then the vinyl is going to be a lime green camo just like below

will hope to post pics of progress along the way as long as i can remember haha

one question and i believe i posted it in the wrong section as i didnt get much responce...

are there any other carbs from different models that swap on this that would be a little easier to find? if so what (other 3 wheelers, 4 wheelers, dirt bikes, etc.)
found some or this model on ebay but they want 90 bucks for it, might have to bite the bullet but would like some input on where i could find cheaper

It's the manifold with two bolts, right? If so every Yamaha 200 and 225 trike carb should fit with the exception of the 1983 200K as that carb used a typical hose clamp mounted carb. Not much on ebay right now, but something should come up soon at a decent price.

What's wrong with yours?
