Finally rebuilt the 250 timber wolf for my ytm 225 and now have all 5 gears working after a bad sprocket and shift fork...took her for the maiden voyage for a 2 hr run and ran good no issues.Parkes over night ( in heated garage) and the next day I didn't get out of my driveway and she slipped out of first into neutral...click up and back into gear again fine...but no matter the gear I'm in once load goes on her she slips to neutral. Any ideas?

Is it really going into neutral from any gear or just a "false neutral"? A false neutral is when you get it in between two gears instead of really being in the neutral position. Is your clutch maybe out of adjustment? Is there a broken spring that is supposed to keep it in gear?

I'm thinking a false neutral clicks back into gear perfect and then slips out again..had side of case off to check shift drum and she clicks Ina and out there good by the look it it

I usually pick a keyword for the search feature and read anything similar, even different machines.

Most gearboxes seem to have some sort of spring loaded 'detent' ball that kind of holds
stuff where it needs to be.
Odd that it worked fine for a couple hours and then decided to quit after a nap.
Sounds like my luck.
Then again, I had one funky shift 250sx and didn't realize that the shifter arm was dragging on the engine case.
Shift arm tight enough on the splines to give it full throw?
