It has been many years since I have had to install new seals in front forks. Got my Clymer manual out and proceeded to take fork apart. All was proceeding smoothly untill the part about separating the tube from fork leg.
It was not coming apart.
I took the dust seal off and found the circlip holding as intended to do.
Took that out and proceeded on.
Made a addition to manual in case several years from now I hafta do this again.
7-B is my hand written addition.
Perhaps some of you guys may want to add it to your air cooled R manuals.

I took a picture of the circlip that wasn't mentioned to remove before the fork tubes can be separated.

Unlike Playboy magazine I usually buy Clymer manuals for the photos and not the print.

I have never been a fan of the Clymer manuals (They contain many mistakes), the factory manuals are the best IMHO. I do like the Clymer girl however!

Wife might have objections. Besides, my current spring is way off for her.

It's too heavy?

My spring is for 220# with gear. She can't be much over 160 in her unmentionables.
