As far as I know no member sponsor is needed, but like before, if they want you to have a sponsor I'll do it for any of you 3WW members who want to join. Just let me know.
They had life memberships at 500 for the last 2 months, dropped it to 300 during or right after Obama's speech tonight. Normally it's 1000, Lifetime memberships goes up to 1500 Jan 1.
It sounds like he wants to enact legislation to prevent people on the no-fly list from buying firearms, and more restrictions on so called "assault rifles", and probably more background check BS. Remember, you don't have to be a terrorist to be put on the no fly list. ;)
The problems with the no fly list:
No clear cut explanation of how one gets placed on it.
It's not accurate. People have been placed on the no fly list erroneously.
If you can put anyone you want on the no fly list, and they cannot buy guns......what have you achieved?

Sounds like a good deal to me. (The NRA not the Obama trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro) they are just using every violent instance as an attempt of weakening us internally. Watching it live you automatically no what is coming out of his mouth next. Bullshit, on top of more bullshit, topped with cherry whipped bullshit. 2016 is gonna be a year to remember, or forget...
Thanks for the offer ST. I may consider it...

I guess the 300.00 deal only lasted for about 10 hours.
Here's the 500.00 link, it talks about renewal, but I believe they are letting new members join for 500 too. They would be crazy not to! There's an ez pay option for the 500 also.
This goes until 1/1/16. After that it goes up to 1500.

They are probably just like any government, all they want is your money... by pretending they want to help you. The bigger the organization, the greater I fear them.

Obviously you don't know jack sh!t about the NRA. Why or when it was formed, or what they've accomplished for AMERICAN gun owners, along with trying to educate youth in the safe handling and use of firearms.
But then, YOUR COUNTRY considers firearms ownership a PRIVILEGE not a RIGHT. How euro-socialist.
You might want to do a little research on how the NRA has helped Canadian gun owners, unless your an anti-gunner. ;)

I'm proud to say that I don't need a gun to feel safe where I live. I wish you could feel the same way in your country. I don't fear letting my family at home without a gun.
I'm not anti-gun. I have no problems with firearms using for hunting. It is very easy to obtain a permit for hunting.
In Canada it is very difficult to obtain a permit for carrying a concealed weapon or just a pistol. You are right, it is a privilege carrying a pistol on you in Caanda and I'm OK with that.

The ability to protect yourself shouldn't be a privilege. Our founding fathers made sure this was a Right and not a privilege. There is a reason it's the Second of Ten, wonderful Rights instilled in our Constitution. It was purposely put at second to be the protection for the First Amendment, because without the second, the first no longer will exist.
As far as needing a gun down here to feel safe as opposed to how you feel up there, there's a certain "element" of society that doesn't really exist north of the border like it does down here. You take the violence this element creates out of the equation and we are one of the safest countries on the planet. Unfortunately anytime you travel anywhere near one of these liberal strongholds, you're taking a much greater chance of becoming a statistic, so I exercise my Right to protect my family and myself.

It's wrong that you guys feel the need to carry a gun to protect yourself and your family's. I guess if that's what it takes then, that's what it takes and I have no problem with that. We all like to feel secure. I think the gunlaws here in Australia are a great example to follow by.

Not going to get into an argument over this as I see both points of view. Our gunlaws are tight and work very well. You don't need to carry a firearm down the street to feel safe. Yet I feel there are certain strains of religions that are pushing their beliefs a bit to hard in our country also. Merry Christmas to you all.

We also use your membership information to send you notices in the mail or by email about special member benefits, discounts, and offers. If you do not wish to receive these mailings, you can: (1) opt-out of email lists immediately by following the instructions at the bottom of the email, (2) email us using our Contact Us page, (3) call us at 1-800-672-3888, (4) write to us at National Rifle Association of America, 11250 Waples Mill Road; Fairfax, VA 22030.
Give them some time to get you off the list after you ask to be removed from mailings.
I've been a member for several years, I see a few letters but nothing in the amount that ticks me off. My wife sorts the mail, gives me what's addressed to me, I go thru it and anything I don't want to read goes in the recycle bin. takes a few seconds.
Personally I get far more flyers, ads, and advertising from places that are no benefit to me whatsoever. That crap is what ticks me off.
It costs money to defend our gun rights from the lefty gun grabbers. Freedom is not free. Be thankful you have someone to stand up for your rights. The NRA is the only organization that the left fears when it comes to gun rights. Do you ever hear the politicians criticize any of the other pro gun orgs?
Gun control is the only policy whose absolute failure is proof that we need more of it.

Thanks Scootertrash, I joined and they started asking for more. I joined 6 months ago because I knew it was important and I want to pay my annual payment, not be asked for more every month. What you suggested that I do should work.

Just throwing this back up here. They are doing this again. I upgraded for 75% off to the next level. Not sure how long it will last so if you are thinking about joining, now is the time to save some dough.

Too late…been there, done that for waaaaayyy more than $300…but that's alright, it's for a good cause and every month's 1st Freedom issue illustrates the trials and tribulations of the 2A in America and the NRA's efforts to uphold it.
As for our brothers in Canada and Australia everyone is entitled to their opinions…but to paint American gun ownership as anything but a necessity would be a lie. In stable times in a stable populous there is no need for guns other than for hunting…but today America is far from stable and to think that a structural collapse or other large-scale upheaval isn't highly likely in our lifetime is living with blinders on. The problem is that bad guys will always have guns no matter what the laws are…and if you lived in Baltimore or any other large city you guys definitely wouldn't feel as safe as in your Countries.

Maybe hit Trikefest while you're at it as well :)
Sounds stupid, but after seeing Crocodile Dundee as a child I've always wanted to go to Australia…then in my late teens I met an Australian named Clarissa, the hottest and coolest girl I have ever met. She was in the States visiting relatives with her family and, since then, I have had this crazy delusion that all Australian girls were smoking hot...
