Hi, my 200M is making a funny chattering type noise. It almost sounds like a chain or something. I adjusted the valves and cam chain, but still no difference. Any ideas? Its ok to use though right? Also, it smokes when you start it, but after adjust the valves it seemed to smoke a little more. Could that effect it or is it just me? :)

Sounds like a worn piston

You need a new timing chain, bore, new piston and rings and valve job. Then you will be right back to new.

Already been rebuilt a few years back with very few hours on the rebuild. Cam chain is still good, its got great compression. It does need a valve job though. What I think it might be is the auto clutch, as the noise stops when reved. Is this anything to worry about?

If it smokes at all, anytime. It is not right. In 36 years of riding/wrenching I have not seen a ATC with only valve seals causing smoking,it has always been in the bore. I would adjust your cam chain and see if the sound gets better. Good luck.

As I said in the first post, I already adjust the cam chain. Thanks anyway.

I have seen the wrong chain used before. Some eBay sellers sell the timing chains for the Chinese as ones for the ATC. The issue is there are 4 different Chinese lengths and 1 ATC length. May want to compare it.
Next thing is a bolt came loose inside the pull start area and is sending he noise up the timing chain tunnel. Check for that next.

Even if the timing chain isn't very old, if the timing chain guides are worn it will still make some noise.
Did you rebuild it yourself or did someone else? Around here a lot lot of people say they "rebuilt" a engine, and all it got was new rings and maybe a timing chain. Plus they often get "rebuilt", then run with a poor air filter, old oil, and far from a proper break in procedure, and are smoking again in no time.
