Hey guys...just picked up a 1983...


I am in the process of running down a list of things to fix....

Question....it appears I need to replace the rear axle bearings...but wonder if it would be better just to upgrade to a new CNC carrier. Is there a reason why one would replace the carrier instead of just the bearings?

Just replace the bearings. No real need to upgrade. The stock carrier does the job. No real need to upgrade to a double row unless you love spending money.

I agree with yaegerb. I have an 83 250R with its original bearings and carrier (although it has low hours for its age).

Hey Mike. Welcome. I just picked up an '84 R and am in Phoenix too. You can still get the rear bearings from Honda. They're not too bad in price.
