I have a 185 that has weak spark... At a loss. All parts swappe.d out have been from a good running 200s engine

1. Changed out exciter and lighting coil

2. New spark plug

3. Swapped out ignition coil

4. Changed spark plug cable/lead

5. changed trigger coil

6. Changed cdi

7. Disconnected kill switch

8. Checked timing

Throw some ideas at me. I may have forgotten something i have tried but I am now at a loss. Ready to find a new engine for this thing as its driving me crazy. Only thing left i can think of are the magnets and from what i have read on here they really dont go bad.

Have you ohm'ed the coil/stator coils? Maybe the ignition coil has a bad ground? Pulser coil can be checked via ohm meter as well, and needs to be gapped correctly.

You mention weak spark, is that by looking at the plug while outside of the engine? What color is it, yellow, orange, blue, white?

Sorry for so many questions, just trying to clear stuff up and think on what else it could be. Wireharness could be a possible issue, but that is rather rare unless it's been cut up by someone, or you can see signs of damage. My guess would be gapping though. I'm not sure if everything swaps over from the 200s w\o swapping in pairs (ex: exciter/igniter coils and flywheel at the same time).

How about a good ground contact to the frame ? Check the stator with a multimeter after that.... electrical is a trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro.
Its usually a simple thing that gets real wiggy especially after your spent $$ from throwing parts at it...
Sometimes its best to replace the entire wiring harness but only do that after you check stuff with a multimeter.
