The motor on my 200M needs to be rebuilt. I was wondering if it would work to use a 185S motor in it while I scrounge up the dough to rebuild the M motor? I know it will bolt right in. It has 25-12-9 tires with a 11T front sprocket and 47T rear. Would it have enough low end power? Also, would it still charge the battery with the 185 engine and run the head/tail light?

Thanks

It should definitely be able to live up to the job. What year 185s?

No it would not charge the battery. Just rebuild the 200m engine its cheap as hell to rebuild anyway.

My apologies, you would need to ditch the battery and swap or convert the wiring harness.

To bad, the battery is fairy new. What parts are different on the wiring harness? I believe its an '83, but I am not 100% on that. I am planning on rebuilding the M, just thought that with this motor I could still ride while fixing the other.

Its not worth the time to butcher up a 185s and a 200m. you will need to swap too much stuff. Battery, wiring, sprockets. The headlights will be dim as well.
