84 250R front axle removal...how the heck?

Embarrassed to even ask as it looks so simple....but....I am changing the wheel bearings and before applying heat and brute force how do you remove the axle from the hub?

It shouldslide right out. I had to use a 3 jaw gear puller to get mine out.

Thanks. It appears it only slides out towards the brake disk side. I guess its puller time.

Hey Mike, where do you ride? I too have an '84 R.

You have to loosen the four bolts on the left side. 10 mm I believe. Then loosen the axle from the right. It should slide out after that.
