Hello, and welcome . The 83 185's had front suspension, but no rear suspension. The Honda 200x had rear suspension as well. Keep an eye out for 1 of them is you have to have rear suspension... Some custom 185 trikes with rear suspension are seen from time to time , but I believe are costly.

Most of the 185's with rear suspention would be from an aftermarket frame that isn't cheap to get, or someone did some welding etc.

For the best ride, 200x would be the winner in the 200 series (including 185). The 200x's are pretty common, so if you can find one with a junk engine, but the rest isn't in bad shape, it is nearly a bolt on swap for the engines. Biggest problem is the right foot brake lever, 200x it is on the engine, 200s/185s is on the frame.

If you are sticking with what you have, check the tires out, newer tires for quads are stiff sidewall and makes them ride terrible. Ideal tire for you would be a light 2 ply tire, like one of the old knobby tires.
