Hi im new to the forum just wanted to say hi guys ive been coming here for advice for a long time but thought its time I joined. Living in tisdale sask always looking for fellow trike fans to go riding with. Have been buying, restoring, rebuilding and customizing bikes since I was a kid most recently over winter mad max. Post a before and after. Found in barn was an 86 250 es parts bike for 10 years rusted out tank, whole rear end gone, reduction gears in motor missing, oil pump lines gone. Now a unique beast heavy skid plate, 85 rear end, welded chainlink and aluminum tin fenders, all pictures etched not painted, 26" outlaw highlifters on itp rims...

I see the hand grips are worn pretty badly, you can get the oem ones yet at honda, or for a lot cheaper, get a set for basically any machine 2007 and newer (I did the lookup based on the 680 rincon). Side by side they are so close you wouldn't know the difference. The very end is slightly different, the oem had a lip for the end cap to tighten down on, new ones don't have that, just a straight hole out the end.
For some reason.... those tires look similar to the ones I had =). Have to love high lifter outlaws.

Thanks for advice and good eye. Yup tires are great on the back horrible on the front fighting the tread in mud and snow makes it useless especially backing up. On ice tire hits betwwen tread and just slides so wouldn't recommend it. Going to get a simple non aggressive tread for front on monday.

Yea, mud tires don't do very well for a non-powered front tire. Understandable on the ice (could stud it but only the tips of the lugs lol). Everywhere else they do amazing though.
Here is a great front tire I've been running on my 3 wheelers. Only use it if you like good traction though, if you whip the wheel you will flip. I drive my 350x and 250sx pretty hard, and steer with the throttle, so great front traction is needed for my riding habbits. Make sure to match the tire up to what rim you have etc. Price seems to have came up on the tire, the one for my 350x was something like $45-50 new.

BTW.... ignore the rear tires, personally hate them, just every machine I get comes with them. Slide easy when flat, if you tip a little, the get more grip on the knobbies and flipping over is a pretty big risk.

Nice tire but ive had horrible luck with 2 ply tires in the bush. Climbing beaver dams or hopping logs with branches punctures them fairly easy. Ive built the bike to be a tank its not light but you could take a bat to the fenders. Ill go to the tire shop monday and see if it comes in a 6ply. How do you like your 250sx ? Have an opportunity to buy one here for $400 not pretty but runs good.

If it runs and rides well, $400 is a good price. Basically it is exactly the same thing as the 250es big red, minus 100 pounds, and 22 inch tires instead of 25 inch. The lightness makes it feel like it has a bit more pep (possible cam difference too). Not the fastest machine or anything, but isn't bad. For trail riding at trike fest, it is my goto machine unless mudding, then it is the 250es just because it had the tires. 350x was great on the general trails, but climbing the rocky hills and wet slippery clay hills the 250sx did better on, even with the same tires. Semi auto is nice for slow riding, the 350x isn't geared down for it, so wasn't the prime setup for it.
My fav machines are in this order, 250r isn't listed because I'm not much into 2 stroke, fun every once in a a while, but not all the time unless you're just riding for speed.
350x
250sx
250es
200es
I'm a bit of a sucker for shaft drive too, love not having to adjust the chain or lubing it, always seems like I forget it before a longer ride.
