Well I've heard these shocks seize because they are air and not oil or something like that. What are a good replacement? Would there be a chance they broke loose if I ridden it hard?

It's likely stuck due to water intrusion and resulting corrosion.

Disassemble and check how bad, then consider rebuilding.

Or plan B if that is beyond your skill set, just check with the guys in here. Lots of members with parts stashes..you'll find someone with a replacement set.

Parts are hard to find and expensive, and, IMHO, it's crappy system. 200m is a direct swap, but you'll need the hub assembly too.

Even at its best, the front forks on the 200ES really didn't do much for you. The travel was tiny, they had so much friction, it really isn't worth worrying about unless you are trying to totally restore the machine.

If you haven't taken them apart yet, what is inside is simply a chromed fork tube with a fork lower slider using nylon bushings. Inside this is a spring and a small strut that looks just like the struts that lift the hood or trunk of your car. Except these struts are just dampers.

What happens is that over the years dust, dirt, mud, water, grime, etc get into the forks and rust, corrode, and generally eat away at the guts. Once damaged, there really isn't much you can do. You can do your best to clean up the corrosion, even replace the nylon bushings inside the fork lowers, but the dampers are no longer available and typically, the chrome plating on the fork tubes will be seriously worn away and there is nothing you can do about that (without dumping huge money at it).

So, in my case, I just put everything back together looking nice on the outside, but completely gone on the inside and just ride it (with basically no front suspension) which really isn't that big of a deal... it's a big red. You aren't going to be hitting the big triple jump with this anyway...

If you want to upgrade, do the 200M fork swap like has been mentioned above.

And If I was going to use the 200m forks I need the 200m hub?

You'll need the 200m hub and brake assembly, the 200m headlight mount, and the upper chrome piece the bars mount to.

and the front rack if you want one , you need it all from the M . Axle , brakes . hub . The M front end bolts on , but the es parts do not cross over .
