Hey everyone, I'm planning on lifting my big red 250 2 inches in the rear and lifting the front forks a bit and adding a snorkel. I'm going to get some 12 inch wheels and put some oversized tires on it! I'm thinking 27 inch silverback x lites. Anyone have ideas for a front lift? I don't want to weld onto the forks if possible. I already lifted the back! This is my "beater" so I'm just going to have some fun with it!
I think you will have to buy a lift if you don't want to weld on the forks or have access to machine tools. Otherwise you can build maybe a 4" lift the wouldn't need welded to the forks.
You only have a few choices, do a 2" lift that's the forks slide into and then 3/4" into the original mount. Or do a 3 1/4 or so lift that's sleeved and welded to the forks. Or do say 4" lift where you can sleeve it good into the lift and then just clamp in the forks.
The kits forsale must be some pretty good materials because the forks slide 2 7/8" into the fork so you don't have much meat left for a 3" lift that's not welded.

I did see that thread with the kit for sale, but I don't know if he still has them. I could weld to the forks, but if there is a way I don't have to that's what I'd prefer. I mainly want it to be really sturdy and have a good lift. I don't want to worry about bending any forks in case I hit something!
