so my kids 350 x has a worn cam and the head /box are both worn too, whats the common fix for this (if any). I was told possible machined and roller bearings, and are cams available to fix this??

You can still buy the cam from Service Honda. For a 1986 anyway.
Do you think this happened because the valves were never adjusted?
There are a couple of youtube video's out there, with what seems like a little coverage on this matter?

If the top end is completely worn, the bottom end may need some work too.
This is starting to sound very expensive.

I am with DC. Get a good used head off ebay, or even good used top end.
