Does anyone know if the forks from a 200S (looks like maybe a 83) would fit a 200es?

Thinking about picking up a 200s could use the forks, looks like a decent tank too.

Different subject and project.....I'm also thinking about grabbing a 200x. I could maybe use the 200S as a donor for a auto X project in the future.

Nope - 200S forks are much different that 200ES. They will not fit.

Tionesta.....I have family in Pleasantville. Actually, I'll be driving from Texas up there in July and will probably go hiking in Tionesta with the kids.

So whats different? Is it the head tube size? I'm looking to get away from the factory front end to a rebuild-able front end. I see a lot of people doing 200m swaps but 200m's are hard to find other than e-bay. This 200S is $100.

200M is the only one that works. The stem is pretty long on the ES.

A complete 200s front end will directly bolt onto a 200es, but a 200s uses a 22x11x8 tire, while the 200es uses a 25x12x9. A 200m or '83 ATC200 (no letter) is the best swap as they both use a 25" tire and 9" rim.

Gearheadtom - are you 100% positive that the steering stem is not longer on the 200ES. I think it is like 1.5 inches longer.

I'm about 99% sure that all the 185 and 200 (excluding all 200x models) basically have the same steering neck, and the front ends will swap between them all. I've got a 200m front end on my 200es right now, and had a 200m front end on my 185s when I first bought it, everything bolted on.

For what it is worth, I know that the stem is at least an inch longer on my 200es than the stem on my 250es. Kind of backward logic, but who am I to second guess the HMC engineers?
