Working on a KTL160 I got a used carb for it, it had a bad float needle valve and it was reving high so I found a another needle vale and swapped it out. It started to leak gas at first then stopped and now it seems to be good, not over flowing at all. But the problem is it keeps reving way up high on its own, some times it stays high and others it wavers up and down, and some times it just idles like normal. When i first started it this wasnt happening and now it is every time.
Any ideas on where to look next ? Could this still be a float issue or is it more like a air leak ? Just hoping someone can give me some ideas on where to look next

Sounds like an air leak or a worn slide / carb body to me. Try spraying some starting fluid, wd40, or brake cleaner around the intake when running and see if the idle changes. If it does, you have an air leak.
