Well since some people either dont want, or dont have time (you know who you are!) Ill post this, cause I need some help!
How do you put the recoil and starter assembly back together? I have a picture of how it all goes back together, but mine is not retracting back like it should, and just flings the fingers out instead of grabbing.
So if you could describe which way the coils are supposed to go, and whatever advice you think I need.. Id put you in my "pretty damn cool" book!!! I gave up tonight, and about ready to throw this Honda in a trash can..... lol

I just rebuilt mine this past weekend chainsaw .
place the cover on a table feed the pull start cord threw the hole,
attach the pull cord to the pulley flip the pully upside down and take the recoil spring and wind it tight using trailprotrailpro hands
, now on the bottom of the pully theres a notch the end of the recoil spring fits into take the recoil spring and fit it onto the bottom of the pully with the spring end hooked into the notch
,now wrap the cord around the pully and lower the pully into the cover be gentle so u dont knock the spring off"make sure the inside end of the coil is aiming the right way to catch the hook on the inside of the cover trailprotrailpro placing it into
now with the pully in place u can hold it and pull the cord to see if the spring is catching and recoiling if it is take the washer and place it down on the shaft on top of the pully ,then take the spring that looks like a valve spring and place it down on the shaft so its sitting on the washer
now take the lil grabber keys and put them in the closed postion then open them slightly by hand
now take the spring that has the l shaped hook sticking up on it down over the valve looking spring and snap it into place
next take the friction plate and place it down on the spring while trailprotrailpro pushing down u have to make sure of 2 things the grabber keys are coming out threw the side holes and the lil L SHAPED PART of the spring is coming up in the l shaped hole in the friction plate once thats all lined up push the friction plate down place the washer on the shaft and secure it with the lil c clip.
I took these pics i dunno if they will help you or not, these show the friction plate and the lil l hook coming threw the l shaped hole, first pic show the keys coming out thats with the cord pulled about 1 inch out,the bottom l is the one with the l shaped hook in it
