View Full Version : Pics of desert light setups?

It's going on a 85 250r, I'm thinking two hella 500 lights. I suppose it doesn't matter what their mounted on as I'll be making a mount. Just looking for some ideas. Thanks

I had this setup on both my 200Xs.

Each had a Hella 500 Driving and a Fog.

The red one had a stock engine and the light coil could only drive one light at a time.

The white one had an e-start Loncin and could run both lights together.

I love the Hella 500 driving lights on my van.

They look bitchin but I never really liked the setup in the dunes. Never felt I got enough light for the $$ invested.

Maybe a pair of Super Oscars if I do it again but LEDs are so cheap and easy I just add a couple to my trikes now.

How does the 350x go powering the stock headlight and the little LEDs?

I've got the frame like jb2wheels, but haven't hooked it up yet. I can try and remember who I got it from if need be, or jb2wheels may remember.

No problems. 350X has plenty of regulated AC power (200W). It could push bigger ones without issues. It might some day if I get motivated to make a change.

I run both stock lights, both LEDS, the tail light, and an LED whip all at once.

I have a similar setup on my 85 R. I might even have put a 90/130 in the stock headlight bu my memory is hazy.

Ted from Utah - Wild200X - used to make them but that was 2010 or so.

I like the idea, maybe enough to replace the number plate. What would be the price of something like that?

Go talk to ironchop. He's got at simliar setup as JB's red and white bikes, but has small circle LEDs and those things are friggin' bright, all on a 200x.
It oughta go good with your 250r.
