I am planning a total rebuild on a Kawasaki 250 prairie. Let me start buy saying I have never done anything like this. My neighbor rebuilds muscle cars for a living and is going to help me and teach me how to work on machines like this.

Having said that I have located the parts needed for the trike on eBay and other places for most everything I need except for the motor. I don't necessarily need or even want an original motor but I need to know what I need to be looking at as a new motor that will fit this trike. The reason I want to buy new (or used) instead of rebuilding the old is because the motor is completely gone out of the one I bought

I'm not sure where to find an engine, but if you can't find one, maybe you could try one from a Kawasaki kl250. That's a bike, but I believe they use the same basic engine. They are kick start only, but it may work.

Well I picked it up today and much to my suprise he had the engine! In pieces, but still! The Craigslist picture showed a frame and wheels and tires and that's about it.... He showed up and had the entire trike in pieces. It is rough, but at least it's all there. I will post pictures tomorrow
