Anybody go in ebay lately and see that someone is selling aftermarket rear master cylinders?
Rebuild kits for oem are not available right?

There are aftermarket rebuild kits. I bought a reproduction rear for my x and it failed on me within 6 months. Bought a rebuild kit but the parts in the reproductions are bigger than oem so the rebuild kit wouldn't work on it.

Yamaha YZF450 quad; I used the year 2004. Had to open up the mounting holes a little bit...

You can also use a 85-86 250r rear master. Just drill the threads out of the mounting holes on the cyl. You can get rebuilds kits for the 250r.

Never heard of the 250r master in a 350x - thanks for the tip. I got a yfz 450 master and master from a 06 Ninja . Both need to be drilled out a bit but that is for tomorrow night.
For whatever reason my rear master is not accepting brake fluid. Tried with my sucker and then tried using air to get it in there...nothing. upgrade time!

I'm running the 250r on one of my 350x's and have been for a few years now. If I had a yfz master I would have used that because there is no resi.

My yzf450 came with a res - maybe yours is a different model? The kawi ninja master has a res built in so there's no lines or anything of that sort. KASEY, if I recall correctly, informed me of this swap.

I 'll have to look again at my wifes yfz. I thought it had it built in. Oh well, at least there is some alternatives out there.

Maybe I'm getting it confused with the ninja one. I have a 450 and one from a kawi ninja...one of them has a res and the other has it built in lol. Sry for the confusion

I have seen some rebuild kits lately. But, because I have the tools, I can make near anything fit.
I bought 2 sealed masters last week brand new for 16$ each....

Well I fabricated the master cyl with no res (lol) to the bike last nite. It is NOT direct bolt and go lol. I first drilled the mount holes out to the size of the screws. This did not work as the mount holes are a tad longer than stock and the holes would not align. So I went another size up on the drill bit and got a little more wiggle room. It seems to fit now but my bolts are short. I shortened them previously to work with the orig master cylinder and gusset kit. (If anyone has any extra mount bolts, I need 2!).
So where I'm at currently is the hole for the foot pedal and master cylinder hole don't line up. (See pic)
Additionally I need to space out the bottom (washers) so it is flush with the top.
Any thoughts are welcome. ..see pix :) (sprry they are crooked)

I think you need to shorten the adjustment bolt.

On the pedal? I honestly didn't give that a thought! I shortened the bolt on the master cyl but that didn't give me the results as the pedal just sat lower

IDK which one, but I had to "V" the pedal and weld it a bit higher.

Could you post a pic just so I have a visual? I'd appreciate it!

Honestly I am not sure but the one with the res built in. Have to try and adjust some of the screws but that's going to have to wait til monday/tues nite

I tried to mount a yzf450 master last night. After drilling out the screw holes, it needs a spacer off the frame. The line end is also at the wrong angle.
