I am a guy who recently (last November) moved back to my childhood area of Albany (area) NY. With space to breathe came opportunity, so a few trades on craigslist landed me a vintage dirt bike (now for sale) and more importantly a Kawasaki 200 (four stroke) ATC 3 wheeler. Gosh darn! I forgot how fun these things were! I had a really nice Honda 200x a few years back, and stupidly traded it away against my better judgement.

I am slowly becoming more motivated to find a nice two stroke ATC (tecate, tri-z, 250r), but it's really hard to find them. I am literally the only person I know of around here that has an ATC. It has 5 speed manual shifting, with no reverse. It does have a pretty nifty locking rear differential. It also sports electric start and standard headlight, brake light combo. Interestingly enough, it has what appears to be aftermarket metal heel guards/nerf bars. This makes the off-road ride quite comfortable and secure knowing it's a bit harder to destroy my feet (haha)

I did all the work to bring this four stroke lovechild of 80's glory back to running condition. It was a barn find, and I am super excited to say I took a long, muddy, wet, and glorious ride today and that thing is a TANK. It's not going to win drag races, but that granny gear gets the thing up and through some stuff that i didn't think it would make it through.

so anyways, just wanted to say hello. and here are pic(s) below (with my wife riding the kawi atc) for reference.

That's exciting! I moved back here in November, and have had some trouble meeting new folks since I do landscaping and am self-employed. I really am hoping I could find others who love these machines like I do.. I'm still kind of newish to the madness, only having one previous ATC.. Maybe some day I can meet and ride with some of you local members? Thanks for the warm greetings!

So, today I lost my front tire on the KLT200 going down a hill... this was after I lost my rear pass tire on my truck on the way back from work. Also, I rolled down hill after stupidly trying to climb in gear 2-3 instead of granny.. stupid and glad I made it back down hill.. had decided to hold front brake which did nothing with how the weight distribution is.. threw me off ten feet and trike got stuck sideways in lawn..

Now on the hunt for a replacement front tire.. it had a heavy duty tube, I think the tube gave out.. going with a replacement tire it's worth the extra dollar investment.

Also * in the market for another trike.. maybe something sportier..

I am thinking my carb needs some serious adjustment though.. loss of power when throttle pressed more than halfway.. lack of connecting hose for air filter box to carb may be causing gumming up of the carb quicker than usual...

** that's my update for now, and thanks for the recent welcomes (for those I didn't reply to)

Without that hose, you're running lean. also, you're sucking a lot of dirt straight into the engine. Replace that and you'll probably be golden.

Sorry for the delay, just wanted to thank you for the advice. I am awaiting a new front tire, the tube blew out while going downhill, but I wasn't going very fast. Had to tow it back home, lol. The air hose thing is worth me fixing, awesome I will get on that.

It may be, looks a little short though.. I will take a pic once I get to it since I will need to take rim off to install new tire.

Now that I looked at your pictures again, I believe you have a KLT250 instead of a 200. I'm going by the oddball front suspension. I don't think that the 200s had any suspension. That could be why the KLT200 intake hose looks short.
