Those are cool looking mowers. I wonder if they have a smaller turning radius like a trike compared to a quad.

Nice find! The name of those escape me at the moment. I have one of the very first zero turn mowers, and she's 3 wheeler. Met all my criteria for my collection. It's in the back of my mower shed right now, but I'll get a picture of it! Swisher ride king. Made a few model's, also goes by a big mow at the end of the generations. What did they want for those mowers dust runner?

That's a pretty big engine for a little 3 wheeled mower. I have a little snapper style mower (aeris or something?) from the 80s and it's only got a 6hp Tecumseh motor in it. Might even have the same or slightly bigger deck.

For the archives, after the link expires. Talk about tech challenged; I only have a land line phone, and I can barely operate that...

90nut, is it the swisher that drives from a pulley on the top and has a front wheel drive chain? Saw one for sale saturday that looked identical but i couldn't get a name off of it and he didn't know...kept telling people it would run, but would never fire it up :wondering and still wanted $800 for it so i passed.

Yep that's it! Swisher ride king. Newer model was called a big mow. Depending what way the wheel is pointing you have forward or reverse. Neat little machine, I've got others, just not

Nice! Liking these old mowers and the innovations you see in them!
But more importantly the build quality.
I've been searching for a push mower now for a while. Orange Murray high wheel with the solid rubber/steel wheels and 5hp briggs. Hand throttle. Indestructible.
I bought a murray lawnmower a few months back and hit a stump the size of my finger and busted the case wide open after owning it for 6 hours. The entire top cover was flimsy plastic except for the spring (they haven't figured out how to make it plastic)
The old one lasted until the deck rusted through in so many places it was scary to use.
Is $800 a fair price for the Ride King if it runs/ rides as it should?

I'll sell you a couple of them at 800$ a piece! That seems high, I've seen them on eBay for under 500$. Problem with the old mowers is they mow REALLY short. The only adjustment the ride king has is you can move the back wheels about an inch, at that's still basically scalping the yard!

That is a good style mower for getting under bushes. I have run three of those into the ground when I owned my own business, they can knock a lot of grass down but the 6 foot deck is underpowered with the 22 kohler let alone an 18 or 20 magnum they stated making them with

My grandfather had one of those!. Definitely took some getting used to but would turn on a dime and cover some ground!
I happened to find another ride king for sale on the local CL for $300 but they cut wayyy too low for what i need then..
I gotta figure out how to get a mower deck to mount under a big red and run off of the sub trans.

Yea, I have around 20 vintage riding mowers, tillers, a roller and some push mowers. None of which cut very high. I think they were into some short bushes back then!..
