Good thing the rears are custom cut, gets good traction on the way to the hospital to treat the sever burns on you feet due to exhaust (Notice the pipe end location?). Good gawd, how much do you think it weighs? Not my cup of tea, but looks like someone put in a lot of work and finished it off well. To each their own. Now that I think of it: I dont think I have ever seen a motor swap in a Big Red, only sport bikes. Starting to like it more just for the originality.

CBX motor with 18" long pipes and zero intake plenum for the stock CV carbs. Guaranteed it runs like shlt, if it even runs.

Pretty sure nobody built one just like that so Its almost safe to say It was the one, BUT I seen video of it do a test pass in the grass.
So I guess it runs.....somewhat.

Ok, i'll eat some boot because I was able to find a video of it running quite well. Although In the pic above, it certainly could have been not completely assembled and ready to run. I have a lot of experience with the carbs that are on the cbx motor and they absolutely do not like to run wide open, but the chances of them having no plenum or filter installed for the following video are slim to none. It revs quickly off idle which requires sufficient intake velocity. Also I don't think they'd want it to ingest massive amounts of dirt during the run. Anyway, here it is:

that thing runs, I watched it ride past me at the antique motorcycle club of america meet last week in Wauseon Ohio. probably where that pic came from. It was mostly just idling around the meet, but he pinned it in second gear and that thing scooted. I think it's a pulling trike

At least you saw it in person. Did you happen to notice if the carbs were wide open like they are in the pic above? If so, he's gotta have some really good tuning skills.

wide open, no filters. Filters would've hit the frame, his legs. Maybe if he used the short length pod filters, but those are junk. It stumbled off idle, but picked up good I'd guess around 1500-2000 rpm. I don't think it ever went past second gear the whole time there

I don't think it ever went past second gear the whole time thereYa pods dont help a bit for lack of velocity which is the cause of the off idle stumble but at least the motor wouldn't be gulping dirt all the time. Still cooler than my cbx trike so no hate. I could build an airbox for it and make it run better though. Even in the high RPM it would run better with an airbox.

Why couldn't run tubes from the carb diet to air filters somewhere in the rear of the bike where they are out of the way?
