I just picked this up for my son, I'm slowly putting it back together. I'm also looking at buying a Kawasaki Tecate 3 in my area, it doesn't have the plastic and needs motor rebuilt, what would be a good price on that?

We like :pics:, and they would greatly assist in the Tecate valuation question. You never know, it could have some rare parts on it, and on the other hand it could be smarter and cheaper in the long run to buy a running machine with plastic on it already.

Lots of rust from sitting outside. Now the frame and some parts are reusable. My opinion is thats a $50 parts machine, not knowing the whole story. Parted it could be worth more. The most important piece on there is the frame if you are looking to rebuild one. Better pictures would help determine the best route to go. It might be worth buying just for a few extras. Again it's hard to see anything but the rust. I know youd post better iones if you had them .
You can get a dang good one running for a thousand.

There's nothing good about it. I'd look for something else.
The Tecate is an 84.

Alright, sounds like I will dodge the bullet then. I'll look for a complete trike.

I see a couple candidates near Detroit, not sure where you are though. If i'm looking for a specific machine, sometimes i'll post an ad in the paper. You'd be surprised what comes from it.

Detroit isn't that far, are they on a certain website or paper?

This one looks to be a good deal. Been for sale a month, he'd probably take 1200 cash. Personally I'd go look in person, hear it run, talk to him about it for a while, then offer 1000 cash with the money in my hand. https://detroit.craigslist.org/mcb/snw/5665762551.html
Here's another worth looking at. https://detroit.craigslist.org/mcb/snw/5687916113.html
Are you after a tecate specifically? Great choice, but sometimes harder to find than the hondas.

I like all trikes I'm just bias to Kawasaki.

Plus, I like the rarity of the Tecate 3.
