Are the 200x '84 crank bearings pressed into place onto the crank's shaft spiggot's?
Is it normal that the crank bearing outer race[flywheel side] , freely rotates within its bore when in-situ? mine does. I would guess that this is ok, so as to allow the assembly of the 2 cases.

Bearings are pressed on the crank not the cases .

233716Not to hijack your thread, but just so I am clear on this. The service manual is not real clear to me. I just had my crank rebuilt for my 83 200x. I received the crank with only one bearing pressed on. The service manual to me looks like the loose bearing installs in the crankcase, then install the crankshaft, transmission, etc. Am I correct or am I missing something.

It's common on the 200x for the outer race of the crank bearings to be slightly loose in the iron sleeves that are cast into the cases. I personally assemble mine with a little green sleeve retaining loctite on the outside of the bearings. Maybe I'm wrong in doing this, but I have built several engines this way with zero problems.

I find four stroke bearings to be a slip fit in the case, and pressed on the crank.
Two strokes seem to stay in the case halves mostly but also pressed on the crank.
I can split a four stroke with a plastic mallet; The 250Rs needed a "case splitter" tool I whipped up.....
