200x with backward kicker?

i have an xr200r 82 that im putting an 85 200x bottom end in for a couple different reasons

i am wondering if i can use the right side cover from the xr200r and keep the kicker kicking toward the back instead of using the x reversing gears and side cover?

Yes you should be able to. I belive you'll need to use the kicker and kicker gear from the XR200 also.

On the other hand I think all you really need to do is swap the XR200 kicker and kicker gear into the 200X case

i had the kicker shaft already set up for the 200x so i just put it in that way going to be kicking forward for now

You have to completely split the bottom end to swap the kick start spindle. It comes from inside the transmission.
