1985 125m starter issue

I'm pretty sure it must be the starter because what's happening is the starter relay is making a ticking noise whenever I go to start and I've tried two relays both of which I know work, is there anything else it could be? And is it hard to change a starter on this trike?

Did you charge and test your battery?

I'm charging it right now to make sure, it's a pretty new battery though I'll get back with the results

If you determine that your battery is good, and your are SURE your solenoids are tested and proven, then you might go the route of a starter rebuild kit. They're fairly simple to rebuild, especially if you post a thread and ask for help :)

And also after I try to start it the head light and neutral light turn off for a bit, could this mean a loose connection?

.....yes... It could also mean the starter is shorting. Check and clean all connections, especially grounds.

Ok and I fully charged the battery, same thing I'll look into a rebuild kit, thanks!
