can a faster 5th gear be put in 250 big red?

Do any of you guys know if it's possible to replace a faster 5th gear in a 250 big red? That would be nice if one out of a 350x or something would fit.

Would be great when I'm not in the woods going from place to place on Friday and Saturday nights lol . thunder god is supposed to get back with me but I think he works alot

I don't have a yes or no answer, mechanically, but guessing with the super low gearing of the BR, the easiest solution would be either swapping in a SX rear differential, or installing taller tires (like 27" rears) Guess I just always excepted my BR for the tractor it was...

True, I've wondered about sx parts but can't help but think how cool that would be.

The 85 diffs will interchange, and 86-87 diffs will also... Just don't try to swap a 85 diff into a 87...
