Alright guys a little bit about my 87 Honda big red. Its a 250es given to me by my grandpa. Given to him by his step-dad. This trike has some priceless meaning to me and I HAD it running great. I repainted the racks and put a new set of rubber under it and a few other minor things. Now to the bad, my gas tank has rust in it I tried red kote about a year ago and i'm assuming the gas ate through it and rust has started to appear again. I have the cleaning of the rust under control but need to find a coating or rust preventative to stop it. Found a product called KBS coatings, has anyone used it or have another method of rust prevention that will hold up? Thanks in advance for the help fellas.

Re clean with vinegar, then re coat. I assume,,if the red kote peeled back off,it wasn't ready to be sealed correctly. Guys have had great luck with it. Just like a great paint job,,prep, prep, prep and more prep. It all has to be done right, start to finish. There are tons and tons of tank coatings out there, I can't recommend any as the only thing I ever used was kreem, and always had spectacular results. I have read that it doesn't like ethanol lately. You could check with them ,I'm sure they have an opinion.
