I need to rant. I just spent $6500 dollars on a newer bike. It Ran perfect and is the cleanest one I have seen. Get it home start it up and wouldn't you know it oil starts going everywhere......oil filter bolt is stripped and the oil pressure popped the o ring out along with the stripped bolt. FML this is my luck one expensive shop ornament. I'm sure it can be fixed but why am I so cursed!?

I hope you haven't purchased an ex racer in disguise. New plastic can be very deceiving, and only costs 100 bucks. Oldest trick in the privateers guide to selling an old bike.

Can you post some photos of The tip of the shifter, stater cover and the plastic swing arm protector as well as the brake disks? Those items will usually tell you what kind of miles are on a bike. You should also take a look at the hardware on the valve cover to see if there are any markings that would indicate that it has been removed for valve adjustments.

On the right-hand side of the bike on the engine cover you'll find a small hole just below the water pump, make sure it does not have any silicone in it and that there is no coolant dripping out of it. If there is you have another problem that you'll need to deal with.

If you got it at a dealer. Be back at his doorstep TODAY. If private, look the bike over REALLY well like El said, and call him back and say hey....This aint a $300 deal... Maybe you'll get nowhere, maybe not . Either way retapping that is no big deal. You will love that bike, and it fits nice in your beautiful stable!

Ya I'm taking it in to a dealership to get an opinion on the milky oil and the guy I bought it from said he can't believe this is happening and wants to take it to his mechanic. So we shall see

Milky oil,,yep, she needs work. Seems these Can Ams and KTM's are just next level stuff, until they break lol. Sorry, lol, I've had a bad run with Can Am lately. Hope it all pans out for you and the seller.

This whole thing was such a pain. He told me to take it to the dealer where he has it serviced and what not. They said they could look at it first week of November. So I went to a different dealer he directed me to and said they could get me in which was not the case. I showed up and they said Wednesday next week. I purchased water pump rebuild kit, oil change, new coolant and they gave me a slightly longer oem bolt to try in the stripped hole. I replaced everything changed fluids and seems to be better. Noticed behind the water pump seal it was milky but nothing in the coolant. Cross my fingers and go ride it tomorrow in the daylight see how things are.
