Hello all,

Trying to troubleshoot an electrical issue.

I got no power to the starter solenoid trigger wires.

I jumped the key switch (red and black), push the start switch and nothing. Even bridged the wires on the back (black and yellow/red)

I am looking at the wiring diagram and it should get power to the starter solenoid trigger wires once the start button is depressed.

Battery is charged. Jumping across the starter solenoid makes the starter turn.

Any thoughts?

Nope. No fuse. I looked at it again and the wire going to the battery with a fuse on it wasn't there. I jumped the red wire to the rectifier and got power. Had to jump the starter button as it's bad as well.

Verified by spark by shocking myself, lol. Put some starting fluid down the spark plug hole and she started for a second. Ran a temp fuel line and put some gas in the carb and walla, she runs. Adjusted the idle and pilot and she runs great. Albeit without an exhaust header and silencer.

Thanks for the help.

Hey great ! You think you can bring that starter switch back to life by sanding contacts a little ?

It seems that even looking at the switch starts breaking brittle plastic pieces. I am thinking of just buying a whole new aftermarket one.
