Picked this up last night. This will be my 4th Polaris 3 wheeler I've owned. Sold 2 and my other one I took all apart to refresh (on the back burner). This one's a runner but seams to have some leaks here and there. Seems all of the cables need to be replaced and the brakes need some attention. My wife is interested in trying this one out since its fully automatic. Paid $500 for it and I'm happy with it.

After getting the P-3 I purchased from you last winter all in top notch shape + giving to my brother ,,,, well I definitely miss the ride + performance they provide.
I ended up bringing it back to my house for much needed crank seals replacement.
If you find you need that long clutch pulling bolt I can loan it to you Matt.
Looking forward to the retro updates !

Back in the day the magazines stated the front suspension was to soft, the rear too high, and it was not the easiest three wheeler to side. Having ridden these machines, Would you agree with this assessment?

Well considering they used the Yamaha front ends, they aren't bad for trail riding. I don't know how heavy the p3's are but i know I wouldn't wanna go jumping my ytm's.
Great score for that price considering how rare they are. I wanna get one for my girlfriend also since she doesn't like to use a clutch. There's a nice one sitting about a mile or two from my house but a couple years later the guy still won't sell it. Says it's his "friends" and he doesn't wanna get rid of it.

Well, I suppose I can best politely say that was their opinion. From my experience with owning 2 of them myself and involved with 2 or 3 more in acquiring for guys over the years,,, they are SO very wrong in all aspects.

You did a great job with that one! Seems kind of silly for me to sell one and then get another one but that's just how it worked out. At the time I just didn't have the time to work on it and I was saving money for something else. This one popped up and I've been missing the ability to pull a garden trailer.
As far as performance, I think these things are great. They have to be the most stable trikes ever built, that in combination with full automatic transmission makes them great for anyone to ride. I definitely wouldn't jump it but that's not what they're for. I've got a 350x and kx450f for doing things like that. But if you want to go in the back and trim some trails with a chainsaw then this is your ride.

Completely jelly. I wanted to get one for my wife because she can't ride foot shift bikes very long. Hurts her leg to much. She hurt it when she 10 or something riding a bicycle so she prefers the autos.
Nice score bud!

The front end on this one seems a little wonky. Haven't figured out why exactly. But then I was thinking that I've seen people convert a YTM trike to have a tri-z front end. Since this one has a YTM front end shouldn't the Z front fit on it? Looking for opinions on feasibility and how you think it would look. Don't be too harsh. I'd be interested in the disc brakes, sportier tire, and stronger front end. If I got the right year the fender and headlight would be black and therefore match the rest of the trike. I of course would lose the front rack but this one came missing to begin with.

I like the idea. Especially with the 85.5 black fender and all like you said. Make the two stroke sport utility just that much sportier. But what are you gonna do for the front rack? Abandon it? Fab it to fit? I think if you are gonna make the rack fit I'd even go ahead and make the p3 headlight be able to mount also. It'll look OEM still but have all the upgraded parts and sportier look. I mean it's kinda ugly (is out of place more politically correct?), but it's the signature p3 look.
I know this, you'll be the first one to do it. I think it'll look cool. Just search the forums for the tutorial for the swap. It's just a matter of what bearings to use and all.

I was considering keeping the Z headlights and making a rack to fit. Would definitely give it a more aggressive look and might cause a few people to scratch their heads wondering what the heck it is! Now I just need a Z front end. There's one for sale in flint but I don't know if I want to go all that ways; I'll keep an eye out for something closer. Anybody around Ann Arbor have a Z front end for sale?

I want one. Been looking for quite some time. Would like to put it next to my Sportsman and RZR. Hard to come by and when I do, a few of them were wayyyy over priced. Just because they are hard to come by doesn't mean that they should cost and arm and a leg. Plus, I've run into a difference in opinion. What one considers Excellent or Near Mint, I've considered Fair to Good at best. So, anyone have one they would like to sell?

I'd like one too. I've ridden a 1987 Trail boss 4x4 and like the power it has. I think it would be fun on a trike.

A guy at work mentioned there's one up in Northern MI. I have any details but if he comes back with the info I'll keep you in mind.
