IDK, never really thought about it? You getting prodded by those BS telemarketers?

I like to think I don't have anything that anyone wants or would be too had to sell. Then I find out the shed at my campsite was broke into last week. I doubt the paddle boat and axes were stolen since it takes WORK to get any use out of them. Scamming/stealing feckin pieces of sheet. My camper got hit out there last winter and all my firewood taken a few years before that. Welcome to Canada where everything you own is up for grabs because we like to treat everyone nicely instead of capping their azzes. Coolpool out!

They scammed an elderly lady in Massachusetts for 15,000$ worth of Target gift cards; They told her she owed thousands to the "IRS".

We have the Driveway sealer scam, the Chimney clean scam, the Computer virus scam etc etc etc...

These days I find the scammers to be nothing more than a minor nuisance. It's almost "shame on you" if you fall for anything they pitch you, it's so obvious. Last week I gave my phone number to a website and no lie I got THREE junk phone calls that same day. I was amazed but in this case I found the most obvious answer the most likely. I got two more within a couple of days after that. All I do is block the number in my phone, easy enough. Same with emails, send them to the junk folder. Honestly I have no idea how anyone can ever fall for any of these things they're so obvious. About a month ago I had one text me directly out of the blue, very rare that's happened. These people are incredibly desperate. I knew it was a spammer from the very first text, so I figured I'd play with them. From the offset I told them I knew they were trying to spam me and I tried to reach the real person on the other end. I was asking them what country they were from and if their scam ever worked. The desperation came to light when at one point they did acknowledge they were indeed a spammer and not who they were pretending to be, but then after they acknowledged that they went back to trying to trick me. I knew what they were and I told them that, then they acknowledged that they knew that I knew who they were, yet even after that they were still clinging to the hope they might get something from me.

At least it's fairly easy to block them in any format really.

Yes, pitch your unwanted emails. They are a scam. I've been scammed by one & I did shame me for it. My bank acct. has been hacked 3 times. First time they made off with 4K at Home Depot. Luckly the bank reimbursed me. Nothing has happened since I've joined the forum, other than a ton of unwanted emails.

They now have "robocalls". When you answer there's a pause and then a voice says something to the effect of "Sorry, I was having some headset issues" or something similar. It's a real persons voice, just activated by keywords. I got one the other day. I just hung up when I got the "I'm calling because you've stayed at one of our resorts in the past" spiel. You can still mess with them by asking odd questions or making strange statements and the computer will reset to a certain point of the sales pitch.

I've always messed with telemarketers anyways. Hit on the females, tell them they sound cute, ask them what they're wearing and tell them that is makes me hot, ask them if I make reservations at the hotel if they'll meet up with me, that kind of stuff. Just keep messing with them until they hang up. The first time the wifey heard me talking like that on the phone she came downstairs and gave me the "WTF" look. :naughty:

Those Robo calls are starting to really burn my ass. I have my phone registered on the do not call list, but no one seems to care about that. I hear you can get up to 1700 bucks per call if you sue them. I don't want the money, I just want them to stop calling. I was thinking of giving all the numbers over to the lawyer and just having any money that he could get out of them donated to a charity the teachers kids to get a real job instead of calling my freaking phone at all hours of the day when they grow up.

Most robot calls and telemarketers can be easily blocked by your phone carrier.

I'm not interested in anything they're pitching anyways............unless it's naughty latinas.......then that's different

What do they say ?....... "quiers chicle" ? ........or tamales para Navidad ? ........ que quiers buey ?

HA!!! No, they call my "merican" phone and tell me my student loan is delinquent and that my car's warrantee is about to expire.

If time permits I like to press 1 to talk to an agent, mumble a bit to get them listening attentively and then blow a referee whistle into the phone. I've had them call back to swear at me a couple times:lol:

I block them all the time, they just keep getting new numbers. Unfortunately mine's a work phone and I get calls from all over the place, so I can't risk not answering any.

The IRS agent with the thick Indian Accent that called my wife to let her know she owed thousands in back taxes and could pay it off right then and there with a credit card ended up telling her she had nice t*ts! lol
Of course that was after she called him back like 4 times and harassed him.... I was just amazed that when she called him back, he actually picked up, and then picked up three more times! lol lol lol...
