I've got a splinter in my thumb that hurts like a S.O.B. :x

I got it from one of those trees with the thorny branches. I've been digging at it with my knive and tweezers for the better part of 2 hours and it will not come out. I'm about to get my Buck knive soon, and gouge the little devil out  :x

At work we use these little tools called "Splinter outs". They basically are a little 3" piece of flat surgical steel with a strengthening ridge down the middle and a small razor sharp triangle point on the end. Sounds like a simple knife right?, but I got to tell you ... they freaking work!. Ive seen them for sale at the pharmacy - like $1 for 10.

We got some stuff that is like Vasoline and you rub it around the skin where the splinter is and it stretches the skin and makes the splinter slide right out.. It works really good.. If i dont have any of that i take a needle and start diging.. :D

You might try duct tape or superglue. The duct tape is good for fiberglass splinters while the superglue is good for the bigger stuff. Kaysen
