Okay..I'm on a very slim budget so a Pro Motion etc..is out of the question but I'd like to ask those whom know if this will work below:
This is a $30.00 tester from H. Freight , the guage is read for higher PSI, which I understand is not ideal

So if I buy this low pressure gas gauge at Home Depot and adapted will that work?

Thanks for any replies and or tips and tricks I just bought my Tri Z and I'm trying to establish it's condition before I send it to a shop, I am just after a safe runner for the next year while I accumulate parts,I have enough projects I need a bike that just runs safely.
Even if anybody has a quick parts list for putting one together. This just looked kind of simple and I like the fact that I can do it through the spark plug hole saves me having to fabricate a Schrader valve at cetra onto the intake plate. Again anyone who is familiar with this look it over tell me if I'm missing something obvious I haven't done this before

Yeah you don't want any more the 3 to 4 pounds pressure. I can post up pics of my set up lator tonight.

This what I used for a recent crank seal replacement on a polaris trike. Adapters will vary from machine to machine for plugging off what ever holes you want to plug so you are on your own there.
Personally I found it easiest to plug exhaust hole, leave plug in place and make a adapter for intake boot.
Remember,,,, you can blow out crank seals your self if too much pressure is applied which would really suck imo.

While we're on the subject, here's my homemade pressure tester I made last week for doing a Tecate bottom end that I freshened up. I used the regulator on the compressor to be sure I didn't blow out my new seals. I need to find a 0-15psi gauge, and I may make a couple other adjustments, but it worked well.

I love what you guys have put together! I gave up looking for the parts down here and bit the Motion Pro bullet. Way overpriced, but still worth it to have the tool.
Old RZ: That first photo you posted is for 4 strokes. Get on YouTube and you'll see some great homemade setups like the ones these guys have posted.
I suggest you never put more that 8psi into your engine. 5 or 6 psi and a spray bottle of dish soap and water will tell you everything you need to know.

A leakdown for four strokes and pressure test for two strokes are two completely different tools and a lot of people screw up the vernacular. What are you trying to do? Leak down a 4 stroke or pressure test a two stroke?
If you want to pressure test the tri-z here is a quick kit for you.

Even the kit has the wrong title....lol
The engine needs to hold 6psi for 6 minutes with zero loss of pressure.

I used PVC, PVC cement and a bunch of brass fittings from the home depot plumbing section.
The air valve insert works great with a bicycle pump.
The exhaust plug was under $4.00 at the auto parts store.
These kits cost less than $15.00 to make.
6psi for 6 min. No exceptions
I learned you need to keep the piston near'ish to bottom dead center. (transfers open) Or you run the risk of air moving through the piston rings and giving you an erroneous indication.
