Tri-z high idle at start up

I just bought a tri z a few weeks ago and when I met the guy to buy it he starts it up and it revs super high, he said "that will calm down" but I was half out of it on medication so I just bought the thing and took it home. Anyways, like I said, right at start up even with choke off it starts and revs super high for a good few minutes. Blipping throttle does nothing. Just keeps revving super high at "idle". If you pull clutch in and put it in gear and put your foot on the brake at the Same time it will idle way down once you let it out a little, but once you fully let the clutch out to get moving it will take right off and still be on high "idle". After 5-10 min it just idles itself down and is like perfect, nice and calm like it should be. What's up with this thing any ideas what I should do?

It could be a number of things, but odds are some sort of a seal, or gasket is leaking air prior to the engine warming up. Do yourself a huge favor and get a gasket and seal kit and go through the entire engine before you bother trying to ride it.

But if that isn't something you feel like doing, at the very least Get the engine pressure tested to find out if you have a leak. It might save you a ruined engine
