I'm getting into talks with a fabricator who maybe willing to hear what I have to say about having covers made.

I'd love to hear anybody's input on sizes and a comfortable price. I'm figuring a S, M, and L for 70s, 110s/125s, and Big Reds/Xs/Rs.

I just very recently saw an ATC cover on eBay but it was snatched before I could go back to it and actually buy it. I know some time ago there was someone on the Bay that made "tri-z" covers but couldn't look up any listings to see prices.

Does anybody have an ATC cover that I could use for a base outline? Can I get some input on how we may want these made? (Such as.. Do we want them to hug it close like a T shape or just a generic triangle shaped cover). Obviously price would play a role in the design, but I figured if we kept it simple like a triangle with an elastic bottom and maybe security loops, the price (in bulk) wouldn't be so bad.

Before I get too far, what would be a price that we would be comfortable paying for these?

This is what I have come up with doing really sloppy measurements of a tri zinger, 86 125, and a 350x

Sloppy because I'm trying to account for someone with some spacers, slightly extended swinger, racks, different wheel and tire combos, etc

Small------ (tri-zinger)
Yellow 30"
Orange 18
Green 10
Blue 29
Red 8
White 54

Medium------- (86 125)

Yellow 40"
Orange 27
Green 12
Blue 42
Red 11
White 75

Large------- (350x)
Yellow 40"
Orange 27
Green 17
Blue 48
Red 11
White 78

If anybody reading this can verify these numbers (roughly) I'd appreciate it. The 110s might be a lil small for the medium which is why I'm looking for other measurements to compare them to. Also the 86 big red 250s might be a lil oversized for the large dimensions. If there are any major differences in your numbers please let me know so I can gather as much info on dimensions as I can. If I have to make the large a bit bigger that's what I'd like to know.

I like this idea!! '85 Honda 250SX here with rear rack and aftermarket grab bar. Color would not be as bis as a concern for me as fit and finish would be priority. Something made out of waterproof and UV proof material.

Are you just wanting to have the old retro red style ATC with vinyl print? I'm sure this will be a totally redundant statement so please forgive me. You know of course that you can buy red Atv covers, as well as many other colors... for $20- up? Coleman makes a great cover that will last for a couple years for @$40. Maybe you just need the lettering? Just a thought.

I was looking more for a cover made for the ATC itself. If there's a generic round elastic bottomed cover then I'd be on board with that. I'm not picky. I was just under the impression that ATV covers were square(ish) shaped and was putting a feeler out for covers MADE for three wheelers. As long as the price was comparable to a quad cover, I would be interested in something with a little less slack in the front.

Embroidering/silk-screening/vinyling was going to get brought up afterwards if anybody wanted that. I could at least try n get a buncha covers made by one guy and keep the price down as much as I could. Another conversation I was going to have is if people wanted them now, I could send them out (once received) or I would bring a buttload to TF17 depending on the interest of those going

My best friend is seamstress/ engineer. He makes all kinds of covers, seats, etc. The problem is no one ever wants to pay enough for him to want to do it. He can knock them out but the material is more than the labor. He only likes making things as nice as possible.

Side note, a 4 burner has grill cover fits a 110 size machine just Dandy!

You're going to buy a Goodwill sewing machine and have a go at it ain't ya :),,,, about darn time someone did !
Anyways, I will get pictures of the cover the Mrs. made for my 85 Bigred on a 85 Bigred. I do not own one of those any longer but use the cover on my 300EX trike (loose fittment).
If you like what you see I will mail it to you so you can measure the individual panels for assembly. Just please bring with you too TF2017.
I won't be able to get pictures till Sunday,,,, maybe before then,,,

If I had the material and the knowhow, I certainly would!

Looks like anything super heavy duty like patio furniture cover stuff is going to be a bit ridiculous in price (90nut). I'm looking into a thinner material that is less heavy duty. Like motorcycle cover material. I'm figuring if I get a big sheet, put it over the trike, and cut it to the bottom of the wheels, I should be able to use that as a template and put elastic hem around the Border

I still would like to have an 85/86 big red dimensions this way I can really make a large size fit it

I'm looking for you 250 big red guys..maybe even a 250sx since it might be the same. Can I get a perimeter measurement from wheel to wheel to wheel?

Might be more interested in the 250 big red because after checking my TF16 parade video, I have a feeling a lot of those have 25" tires. Maybe (like SO many things) its just in my head

With my MEDIUM measurements I am looking at 260 each cover. That's with a best built 10 year fabric. If I bought 50+ they would drop to 150 each. I'm having him quote me for ripstop nylon next

Still in search of some dimensions for a BIG RED to see if I need to modify my measurements.

Latest update is that he's planning on making it out of a polyester coated vinyl. Top shelf stuff. Most likely going to go drawstring on the bottom this way one size can fit many different things.

I buy car covers, I have to cover multiple trikes. I pay around $100 for a decent cover.

Have to remember that this is a custom job. Handmade. If I was a manufacturer of covers banging out thousands at a time nation/world wide...my price would significantly go down too. This isn't car-cover quality. Patio furniture fabric is much more heavy duty.
