Hi gang! I bought an 84' 225dx last month. Found it on Craigslist. Started a little restoration on it and found this forum. Lurked a bit. Enjoyed looking at all of the neat rides and mods you guys have come up with. I'll post some pics soon. Next project is my 85' 350x. I've had it stored away since around 2005.
It needs a ton of work.

Thanks! No pics of the 350x currently it's buried in storage. The 225dx was grungy with faded yellow plastics when I picked it up.

Ah very nice. Looks way better. Liking the updated Yamaha symbol. :)

How does it run? Everything work? Up here in my neck of the woods it is mostly all Honda.

It runs really good. I had to replace the axle bearings and that's it. I have a new seat cover on it and I'm upgrading to an LED headlight. Banshee hubs and wheels are on the way from eBay with some 20" tires. I would like to find a tri-z front end for it as well.

Thanks guys. Yes. Plastic painted with Rustoleum 2x Silver Aluminum then 2x Clear coat. Graphics are carbon fiber vinyl cut to fit the original decal areas and a white YAMAHA laid on top.

Nice! I've been keeping up a 225dx for a guy for the last 15-20 years...I mentioned to him that I wanted first shot when he's ready to sell...A buddy of mine was bugging him about it about it but he said I had first dibs. He has owned it since it was 6 months old. I'm excited.
